Calling anything bad in a relationship “cheating” is insane. It only serves to weaken the term cheating while doing nothing to strengthen the boundary, because you look like a crazy person saying it and everything has now lost meaning.
Just as it's great that emotional cheating can be recognized, we can equally realize that “Reddit upvote cheating” Is asinine and muddies the water.
Further, we still feel the need to clarify emotional cheating, with an added descriptor. Even though it makes perfect sense. I'd be fine adding a descriptor to people who think liking a post or talking to a stranger is cheating. We could call it “I am not emotionally ready for a relationship – cheating”
