3. It seems like you are generalizing specific hang ups that you have. I live in WY (a very “traditional values” state) and I work in the trades and due to the fact that I am self employed I have the option to be home with kids. My buddy “J” is also a carpenter and is the primary childcare for his family. No one that works with J looks down on him for being a great dad. No way. I've had conversations where we have talked about stepping our game up to be more like J, he's an inspiration.

   Unfortunately we live in a country, due to policy choices, that necessitates most families have 2 incomes to survive. There shouldn't be shame attached with making a decision that is the best for the family, no matter which parent stays home. If people are going to judge you for being a good father, fuck them. Get new friends
