Your girlfriend is absolutely in the wrong here. Shes clinging to the idea of having a normal family life with her mother-in-law and disrespecting you and trivializing your abuse in the process. Thank you for sharing the dynamics of your relationship! We both work jobs where the schedule can be unreliable so in the past that's how we would work and it wasn't a huge deal.
But he also gets really defensive (in the past 3 years or so) if I ask him how his day went so I generally have no clue what his day to day life is like which worries me on top of him not mentioning he got off work hours earlier. Like if my boyfriend had no problem telling me even just a little bit about his day, I would feel more secure that he wasn't up to no good but his immediate defensiveness about work in general raises suspicion to me
