The most dangerous time for someone being abused is when they’re leaving. Do not tell him you’re leaving. Don’t give him any hints. Do what you did last time (while he’s at work) but stay gone. He’s put his hands on you before, just because he hasn’t done it since, and even if he hadn’t done it at all, doesn’t mean he won’t kill you to keep you.
The way to help the sister isn't to enable her and give her places to stay; it's to get her treatment. I'm with the husband too.
