The loudest, nastiest people are often heard the most. Don’t let them get under your skin. I’m sure that you have people in your life that love you, and I’m sure that you can get through this. Regarding the potential for diabetes: my step mom has MODI (adult onset type 1), and her symptoms were kind of similar—ammonia-ish smell and sickly sweet breath. Once she was diagnosed and properly treated, those symptoms disappeared. All this to say, it might not be type 2.
So in the other thread I made the point that dumping her without a conversation would be spiteful.
