Nailed it right here. I rarely comment but this post enraged me to no end I just couldn't help it. This comment basically sums it up. It's unreal to read this story and see how someone went from being a loving caring father (and father figure for two nieces), to not buying cards and gifts for his own daughter for two whole fucking years. That is absolutely INSANE to me. It sounds like OP got bait and switched for sure but there is NO EXCUSE for letting this continue for two years. Damage has been done and it's going to take a ton of work to undo it, if it can even be undone. Feel absolutely awful for those kids.

People who look down on him would be awful to. Life is a marathon and not a race and everyone has this own journey in life. In this day and age it's hard for people in their 20s to get well paying jobs and be able to financially support themselves and be independent. It would be great if that was the reality but it's not. I myself had to work in retail for 8 months after getting my masters cause of how hiring in my field was and after I landed something, it was only for 6 months and then i had to jump to another temporary job. I lived with family cause I could not afford much.
