This post is so confusing to me. Here’s a couple of things that stood out as questionable:
1) Your kid making fun of his own mother for her weight (your wife until divorced btw) is perfectly fine. Now, I’m all for weight loss and healthy living but come on. Why are you just permitting your child to verbally abuse your wife and then justifying their actions because you find her unattractive? Yikes. She should be doing better but you’re not winning any awards either, bud.
2) Reddit cannot tell you what to do. You say you want to move on but you moved on as a response to her paying you less attention. It doesn’t seem as though you moved on because you were truly in a good place and it was time, nor was your intent to begin dating turned into any sort of discussion.
I would normally say that who you’re seeing doesn’t concern someone much if you’re divorcing them, but at this level of entanglement… I would have told your wife softly and firmly AFTER moving out, establishing yourself by yourself. Right now it looks like you’re trying to hop from one complicated situation to another without working on yourself. You need to decide for yourself if this relationship is one you wish to work on. Either way, you should both go to counseling. Individually and together.
3) Why is the point about her bitching about the location relevant? You mentioned moving a distance for her as if it should nullify the reasons she wants to live somewhere else. You can both move somewhere else together, no? Or is it more complicated? Some context would have been nice if it’s a massive point of contention worthy of its own bullet point.
TLDR; Be better. Go to counseling if you want to fix things. Go to counseling if you don’t want to fix things. There is a lot of context you failed to provide but reading between the lines… idk why everyone is siding with you so nude lol.
