You got too drunk around coworkers and nothing happened. It seemed like he was cool about it and I don’t see any implication from your post that your of this guy has bad intentions. I really think you've gotten great advice here, and I really like how you've communicated with him. I think your missing piece is that he's got some kind of complex around the idea of relationships, and he's immature. Further, for whatever reason he refuses to think about his thinking, and you obviously do that very well, so it's a skill gap.
I think you should dump him. It's always going to be this, and you seem like the kind of person who needs certainty. Certainty scares him, and he doesn't have the emotional maturity to be brave about it, and that's never going away. So do you want to get serious about a relationship you're always fighting him for? He won't even agree to be your boyfriend, when will he ever commit to you at all?
You have a right to certainty. You need it, it's important to you, it's a clear boundary, it's a deal breaker. It's not irrational to break up with somebody who can't meet these kinds of needs, it's actually the best thing you can do. He can't give it to you, he'll never be able to give it to you, so quit wasting your valuable days on him.

How is he going to act to your kid? Can you imagine him with an eleven year old daughter whose shirt is gapping at the bottom because she hasn’t figured out her height yet? With a thirteen year old son who thinks he’s fat? With a twenty six year old, pregnant daughter dealing with the same issues and choices you’re experiencing now?
If I were you, I would be making this a hard line for him right now. He doesn’t get to insult people and confirm others’ insecurities when they’re at their most vulnerable, whatever trauma he may have faced in the past.

He said he is still planning to run the numbers. He is unhappy with his portfolio, so this might be part of it. He hasn't been contributing enough to it, and it's not where it should be at either. I was very opposed to the idea when he brought it up, but in the end, he will do what he wants with it. I suggested maxing out Roth IRA since his income for this year will be lower than the limit due to unemployment, and he seemed intrigued by it.
I have tried to leave this mess many times and I always find myself in it again,the last time i broke up with him I blocked him off everywhere and we had no contact for 6months.but then he wld always get a new number and text me again and I wld block him again untill he wld hook me again with something harmful(he once threatened me with suicide)that he wld do and i had no choice but to be in contact with him and eventually we wld get back together.he wld take advantage of my love for him and my empathetic nature.
