I completely agree about the cursing, but I think withholding affection is more complicated. If he doesn't want to cuddle with her or go on dates because he feels upset at her than he doesn't have to, the bigger issue is that he just never communicated with her or addressed why he was upset. Letting it go on that long isn't acceptable.
