But the one thing no one is talking about is that this seems like a huge shift in behavior. Your girlfriend had a workplace injury, started watching a ton of Tik Tok, and is now talking about radically changing your relationship. My first question to her wouldn't be about polygamy versus monogamy, my first question would be “Is everything okay?”
Sometimes we make radical changes in our lives because we're dissatisfied with our current circumstances. That can be a good thing, if we're changing the circumstances that upset us. But sometimes, when we can't change those circumstances, we start radically changing what we can. Some people dye their hair, or get bangs, or get tattoos. Minor things. But some people make radical changes and regret them later. Sometimes when we feel like we can't control a major aspect of our lives, we reach out for something we can control, and then make a huge change just to prove that we can. It sounds like your girlfriend might be hurting. I agree with the advice everyone else is giving, but regardless of whether you break up with your girlfriend, maybe ask her if her medical leave has been hard on her?
