Nova Scotian here. It is recommended to keep thermostats at *at least* 15 in order to keep room temperature at/above 10. But you should probably actually have it somewhere closer to 18 since the temperature in NS can drop a lot and wind can drive cold air into your walls. The temperature inside your walls is much colder than the temperature inside your rooms. Your husband is a right idiot.
