You strung her along w the idea of engagement even though she knew of possible med school abroad. Suddenly you told her you accepted and you’re going to Ireland w o even discussing it first. Not that you’d be asking permission or that your outcome would be different. But because you’re (were) in a committed relationship and big decisions like this deserves at least a conversation before accepting. You both knew you’d go but when you accepted so fast then told her she knew in that moment you had no desire to be engaged let alone be married. And if you were married she knew she had no input or deserved conversation about big life events.
