I have possessed my apartment for 7 years. It is a 1 bed room apartment, and in a very good city centre location. It is an asset in my name only. It' ll become an asset that will appreciate as time goes on, especially along with further investment in the town I live! in. Actually within the past 7 many years, it has appreciated by 50% in value.
I' ve been dating my GF for 1 year – we' re just moving in together now. We' re speaking about moving to another city closeby and buying a home together. We plan to do this in about 3 years or so.
We had a discussion about it this evening, and he or she told me that I' m probably have to sell this flat to help afford in new place in the city.
Our issue is this: I' ve been divorced in the past, and my ex took the other beautiful home. Basically didn' t have this ripped I' m living in during that time, I would have been royally screwed.
I don' t feel at ease selling this place. I actually told her that, and that it' d be best if we didn' t sell this flat, since the value of it would just appreciate as time went on.
She said: " I just don' t believe we' re at an age group where we should be having two properties. "
I' m unsure how to proceed properly with this. I don' big t want to sell this ripped, but I appreciate with out doing so, we might not be able to afford a family home.
So what do I do?
