Just a thought, but abusers and narcissists LOVE to ruin holidays and birthdays, particularly birthdays because the focus is all on someone else. I’m not sure if he has other red flags but that worries me
He has pattern of hurting you on your birthday. This is not normal and feels intentional. Does he have trauma connected to birthdays? Because his behavior is genuinely unacceptable.
Also, it’s not really about the importance of birthdays. They say the indicator of a healthy relationship is when you accept bids from each other. A bid is just any time that you ask your partner to do/notice/care about something and they give that to you. It could watching a video you’re excited about, or helping with a chore they know you hate, OR celebrating your partners birthday because they told you how much it means to them.
He simply isn’t willing to do the bare minimum to make you smile on your special day, he even goes out of his way to make it bad at this point. YOU DESERVE BETTER QUEEN
