I think the truth probably lies somewhere in the middle. I can see that with some of these issues that two people could have very different recollections, and one's intention might not have been as nefarious as the others subsequent emotional trauma.
I'm also wondering about the depth of the trauma that you received when he refused to go to school? How does that traumatise you? Perhaps the arguments and family fights that surrounded the refusal to go to school were the real issue, not the refusal or absenteeism itself. In which case you have to wonder how much of this is about the parents especially if he was experiencing the onset of BPD. Is this really about your brother, or is he the scapegoat for bad parenting and a terrible upbringing? Or have you typecast him as the villain when he couldnt control his own actions because of the BPD?
Sooo in this situation, the ?????? are waving to stop this race (relationship)….. but dont worry the race will soon restart and in a lap or two there will be ??????? waving to end this race ( relationship) because who in their right mind even thinks this is ok…. SERIOUSLY please dont be gaslit by any of his excuses and know you are worth someones time, someones effort, and someones love. A person who loves someone doesnt go on trips with others for drinks out of the country to better a friendship. I'd let him go and then while he was away pack my stuff and ghost him.
