You guys clearly have a communication issue as you haven't been able to set a simple boundary. My advice would be try asking using effective communication for what you need or what you think might help. “I am feeling overwhelmed and need some space for myself. It's not that I don't like spending time with you, but I need some alone time. Would you mind if we only saw each other a few days a week instead of everyday?” If he pushes back maybe offer to send him a text on the days you don't see each other so that he can still feel connected.
But if you want to separate you should still try to use effective communication.
Speak directly. Be honest. Don't attack him. Talk about your feelings and what you need.
Ex: “Hey BF I am feeling overwhelmed by this relationship and need to create space for myself. I don't think we can reconcile and I think it would be best if we parted ways.”
