I've had a similar thing happen; please don't get back together with him. If you do, you will NEVER be able to trust him again, and that will eat away at you. You deserve someone who doesn't dump you every time they want to get their dick wet.
My wife & I have been together 31 years. Married for 26. My body has taken a toll in one way or another and the worst has been a broken back. Let me tell you as long as I was able to get out she wouldn’t give a damn what people thought as long as we were together. While healing and much later when I could walk again I’ve had to use my wheelchair from time to time when the pain is so bad I can’t walk or able to use my walker or cane. But rest assured this woman truly put “for better or worse, in sickness and in health” to heart. She has also been through tough times medically and I’m the same for her.
If your partner doesn’t take “for better or worse” seriously and or is embarrassed to be seen w you at your worst then all you have is someone who is vain and only cares about what other people think.
Social media, in my opinion, has made people attention seekers for approval. Everything has to be absolutely perfect, tons of photos to get the perfect one , nothing can be amiss and it’s to the point they can’t have very much fun because they only want people to see a particular side of themselves that isn’t genuine.
Your SO has proven to you she’d rather go out alone or stay home on your anniversary rather than be seen w you w a temporary flaw.
So my question is if this relationship ends up in marriage how will she handle serious things? What if you were permanently disfigured from this accident? Would she stay w you? I have scars all over my body from various accidents. From bike accidents as a kid, at crashes as a kid/teen, car crashes, hurt on the job, surgeries etc. I have one on my forehead, above my eye, both hands, on my legs etc. These scars are visible even though some are 30 – 40 years old. Would your partner still want to be seen w you if you had these type scars? I’m not saying she’s a bad person and you should dump her I’m just giving you food for thought for your future.
