I had to stop reading the OPs post twice. I was half nauseous and the other half wanted his head on a lance. I have less of a problem with age gaps, from mid 20s on, than a lot of people posting here. Like 3 or 4 years one side or the other, either sex, once the younger is hitting the mid 20s on, it is very subjective and really is more the overall maturity of the couple and how healthy the relationship is.
