There are more ways of integrating her that give her more control for sure. I think part of it is that we come very different financial backgrounds. I grew up dirt poor, she grew up in a two income house. I was very frugal to the point of being irrational which didn't make sense to her. She was a bit more comfortable spending money on luxuries and experiences, which didn't make sense to me. I know we are both learning from each other, but it's hard to see what the right balance should be.
