We have a few mutual live friends who we met in servers etc, but I’m not directly friends with his irl ones. He’s had me call in a Xbox call with them once and watch them play Fortnite but I wasn’t really talking much. I think people say it because men tend to be less emotionally developed than women, with a lower emotional intelligence. In addition, most women don't have trouble being open, warm and loving, while for some reason, most men do.
So, if the man loves the woman deeply, and troubles come up in the relationship, then he will be more inclined to work on himself for the security of the relationship than a man who doesn't love his SO that much.
In general, women are more likely to sacrifice their emotional and physical wellbeing for a long term relationship than men.
So, to balance things out, women are advised to seek a man who loves them more than they do, so that they will be less likely to be abused, abandoned, or neglected by the men that they are in a relationship with.
