Yup, your comments show you've taken note of your gfs style and preferences, and this seems to fit. You've clearly put thought into it, which means a lot.
Oh, that’ll be very convenient for HR when they fire you.
I saw in another comment it could possibly be an eating disorder. I’d highly suggest a doctors visit and maybe talk with a nutritionist. Honestly, if I didn’t smoke weed I’d only be eating once a day, or go a few days without eating. I struggle with an appetite. If I don’t feel hungry, I don’t think I need to eat/think about eating. I started smoking and now I eat 3 meals a day lol
I think OP will be hard-pressed to find someone willing to work full-time while their partner works less and doesn't compensate for it. They earn equal amounts, I assume they split bills equally, in no way is that fair.
My husband and I have had similar conversations. If one of us voluntarily reduces our hours, we will still split finances by percentage of income before the voluntary reduction. If he would make twice as much working full-time, then he should still be paying twice as much. The only other way this would work is if OP is compensating in some other way, like taking on the majority of housework.
Time is money. It's not fair to ask your partner to work full-time when OP does not. I'm sure OP would balk at his partner reducing her hours and putting in less toward the bills.
As a psychologist, just want to put out there, people here tend to offer some really unhinged advice which is probably why mine got downvoted to hell lol. All you can control is yourself. You can only ask him to be honest. And I think couples will either help you continue or clarify that it’s time to stop. Please please don’t contact that friend of his. Talk to him and you have the right to believe him or not believe him.
Editing to add: we aren't married. We don't ever intend on that haha. We will be defacto by default once we've been living together for 12 months.
