I agree: it's only reasonable to ask such a question if you plan to move in together. Even then, I would only ask to buy a new mattress if yours is really old and uncomfortable. Mattresses are expensive!

It's never stated if the OP is talking about the USA. It can be a pain in the ass in other countries. But OP is absolutely in the right not to want gun in their home or spend money on a gun. It's not like he shouldn't be able to handle not getting the toy he wanted just because he asked.
It was the first time that I was going to travel to my wife’s country and meet her family. I had business to wrap up, so she left a week earlier that me with our baby boy.
