Yes, exactly. Situations like this are how those older men learn to keep quiet on certain things. When I was in my 20s, my friends & and I understood that there was a lot that we would have to explain to guys. We didn't necessarily think they were assholes for not knowing stuff or asking questions. I hope that this young couple can work it out by being open with & to each other and learning the things they both need to know & dling what they need to do. They are married & a little grace & humility can go a long way in a marriage.
