Hey guys so there’s a couple of question that keep popping up that I want to address.
Did I pay for the dress? No. My mom gave me money to go pay for it
Did my mom have a quinceañera? Yes, she said she didn’t want one but my grandparents were adamant and threw one anyway.
Why don’t I just go no contact? I live with my parents still and they are helping me pay for college. I also have a little sister whom I view as my daughter. I cannot bring myself to break her heart by leaving her and I refuse to leave her to get hurt by my mother the same way I did. I want her to be old enough to understand why I had to leave.
What kind of relationship did my mother have with her mother? My mom is the eldest daughter so she had to do everything to help. She moved out of her house early to continue her education ( she live! in an extremely poor town). She met my dad and got married as soon as she graduated. My gma was very upset with her and refused to meet my dad until my brother and I were toddlers. They have an ok relationship now.
How is my relationship with my father? My father tries. He isn’t a perfect dad but he has tried really hot to be the best he can. He wasn’t necessarily given the best tools in life. He has always supported me and my hobbies, while my mother never did. We were very close in my teens. He would show up for my games, concerts, etc. despite working a physically demanding job. Unfortunately my mother has him wrapped around her finger. My dad is a recovered alcoholic and he feels bad for everything he put my mom through so anything she says is law. Because of this our relationship has really suffered in the last couple of years.
Lastly, I do have other siblings. I am the oldest daughter.
