Don't “confront” your partner. Just block him, and do not speak to him again. You have spent too much of your time already with this awful man who can't be bothered ever to come visit you and who blames you for what is probably the worst thing that has ever happened to you.

A woman his own age would not put up with his sh**, so I suppose everything does come back to your age – but not in a way that puts any blame on you. He knows you do not have the life experience yet to fully see him for what he is, and a 44-year-old woman probably would; this is why older men dating much younger women are walking red flags.
Please take care of yourself, and get the help and support you need, including therapy. You may not believe this yet, but you will get your peace of mind back (I did); although what happened to you will stay with you forever, it will become bearable.
