Dating someone older who was married for a long time and widowed. He does not seem to understand social boundaries (made a copy of a key to my house without asking, stops by unannounced) etc. He is harmless and not threatening in any way, but these issues made me decide to end things. It was as though he did not understand that it was over. I hate to hurt him (b/c I am a somewhat recovering codependent) but need to get him to understand it is over. Can I remain friends with him or will he ever understand that I no longer want to date him?
