Parents (F49, M55) want to circumcise brother (M18) without his consent. Rest of siblings are joking about it but it concerns me (F19).

My parents and my little brother are going out of town to take my brother to his college orientation. They also took this opportunity to circumcise him as well by a guy who is a priest but used to be a doctor in a different country. Apparently – all the boys in my family were circumcised at an older age (middle school age) than they were supposed to be for religious reasons. My family isn’t incredibly religious, we don’t go to church every weekend, we don’t stop our lives on Sundays, we don’t pray before every meal etc etc but I would describe them as people who strongly believe in god. So I guess it’s my little brothers turn to get circumcised for god.

Thing is – my little brother doesn’t want to be circumcised because he doesn’t want to be in any pain. I don’t think he talked to my parents about it but I told my mom not go through with it but she just ignored me. All my siblings are just making fun of the whole thing but it doesn’t sit right with me. Getting circumcised by a man who may not even be a legitimate doctor? And than my brother having to sit in the back of a car for 7 hours?? I would’ve been so mad if I were in his place. I don’t know if it’s because there’s a generational gap between my parents and siblings between me and my little brother but it just feels really wrong to even remove a very private part in a very private place without that persons consent. It just feels really wrong tome and I don’t want my little brother having any resentment towards our parents like I do for other reasons.

Idk maybe I’m overreacting but isn’t that wrong? To circumcise someone without their consent? That feels wrong to me. Should I try more to stop my parents from circumcising my little brother by a priest who just claimed he used to be a doctor? I just texted my mom not to do it but I don’t think they’ll listen to me.

It just sucks because my little brother just graduated high school a few days ago and is now going go his college orientation and now my parents think this is the perfect opportunity to circumcise him without even asking him in the first place.

TLDR; title basically but parents are circumcising little brother without his consent and they’re going to a very shady person – who may or may not be a doctor – to do it. I feel like it’s wrong and want to know how to prevent it.
