Yes we do dates with just her and me. Of course not as often as pre-children but we make the effort to do it even when we're dead tired on a Friday or Saturday night.

We have little “pockets” of happiness whether out on dates or out with the kids but they're all short lived. And don't get me wrong, I'm not looking for constant happiness as that is an unreasonable expectation of anyone. I just don't think that we'd need to be on vacation or dates in order to achieve these moments. It feels to me as though there are underlying issues that need to be resolved otherwise this is no different than turning to alcohol to numb things.

Going completely dark is harsh to yourself when you didn’t cause the drama. Now getting compensation in the form of a lawsuit against those who have harmed you is fair and justified. I would also take this problem husband to the cleaners if he decides to go through with a divorce. Investigate any possible marital intrusion by another person and go after them as well.
