  1. I think a lot of emphasis is on happiness these days, and I don't know if happiness is the goal of a relationship. In my experience, the more you chase happiness the more it avoids you, and I don't think you can expect being with someone to make you happy.

Maybe the goal of a relationship is instead the knowledge that you have a rock, that you have someone you can rely on in tough times and that cares about you. Honestly, I don't really know.

  2. Hello /u/irllylikecatslolz,

Your post was removed for the following reason(s):

Your title did not include at least two ages/genders or was not formatted correctly

    Posts must:

include details about the involved parties including ages, genders, and length of relationship, and

request advice in real situations involving two or more people

We are enforcing the two rules listed above by making all titles start with ages/genders in the following format:

[##X][##X], [## X][## X], or [##-X][##-X] where ## is the age and X is the gender (currently M, F, T, A, NB, FTM, MTF but more can be added). You can have more than two ages/genders listed, but you must have at least two at the beginning of your title. Here is an example:

[34NB][88-F] We are two people in an example post

Please resubmit with a corrected title.

  3. I knew a couple who were together for EIGHT YEARS, lived together for five, owned a house for three, and was still surprised when she left because he wouldn't commit. I feel like buying a house is a way larger commitment than getting married, but I guess not to some people.

  4. His wording definitely could have been nicer, that’s for sure. But he does have a point here, and it most likely wasn’t meant to look down on you. (I hope).

It’s great that you’re doing your research on the company and preparing yourself that way, and it does go a long way, but you also need to show them why THEY need YOU. Bring your best qualities to the interview, whether that’s wit, humor, charm, whatever. Just keep it toned down to a professional level. Also, research a bit about the person interviewing you. I quick search on LinkedIn is really all you need, and then you find a common ground with that person. It shows that you took the time to get to know them before coming in.
