I do have living arrangements in place. I am planning to write a letter, clearing stating why I am leaving. I am not good expressing my emotions or talking about painful topics with my SO because sometimes I feel like it will be turned onto me and it is my fault for feeling that way. He is very good at making me second guess myself and making me see things differently to change my boundaries or feelings. I think that is a form of manipulation, but i dont know if he knows it is.
I do not fear him. He would not hurt me. He is also always home because he works from home. That is why I feel very smothered sometimes and would like to breathe again.
I don't think couples therapy will benefit you, anyway. The two of you want FUNDAMENTALLY different things in life. Trying to save your marriage just so that one of you will remain unhappy isn't logical.
