You're probably right, but when you say it like that, it sounds bad. They previously said that they wanted to help all their kids own houses. They've been helping my brother build his own house for a few years.
I'm sure I could work out how to buy a house on my own, and it might even be easier and more drama-free if it is a bit more expensive.
