What's gaslighting to me (who has experienced it) is different to someone who hasn't experienced the awfulness of it and how it infects your trust in everyone else.
Uhhh…No. Sorry. Words mean things. If someone means something different then gaslighting, then we have other words to take care of that.
Once again, language only works if you and I both mean the same thing when we use a word, otherwise anything can be anything. Gaslighting is gaslighting, if something is manipulation for example, call it that.
Language evolves, but as language evolves it still means what it means.
You barely know your coworker. You're just living out a fantasy with him because he's something new and older, and he's likely manipulating your feelings because of your age gap and lack of experience. He probably just finds you easy, and easy to control. Saying things like he'll show you things you've never experienced before and you having to explain he isn't a fuckboy is just proof of that. He'll probably use you for shits and giggles, watch your relationship fall apart, and move on to some other hotter, younger woman when he's had his fill.
u/planetflamingo, it looks like you're trying to post a throwaway submission. Your account is too young and/or your comment karma is too low.
