I bring up the fact that I think we should go on more dates and all of a sudden he has a full schedule and can’t make time for it or frankly doesn’t want to. I see it similar to the video game thing since I bring up wanting to play and he finds excuses as to why he won’t play together or just completely blows me off about it. I’m never getting married. Not ever. It is perfectly possible to have a committed relationship and build a life with someone without legal marriage. People have done it for ages. There are many compelling reasons to marry, but they are all legal ones and have nothing to do with feelings. It’s a legal arrangement, not an emotional one. Get married if you want. A lot of people do. I’m just over the narrative that it’s a necessary part of sharing your life with someone. Consider that not everyone can get married. We are moving backwards in that regard. People on disability often can’t get married because it fucks their benefits. If you want to, cool, but the idea that people who don’t are automatically less committed to their relationships is incorrect.

Regarding the matchmaking I don’t think it would upset me. There she wouldn’t be using her own opinion to evaluate the guys and also they wouldn’t message her and her be the first one to see their messages trying to win her over. I suppose it’s partly a self confidence problem that I have, with her possibly seeing lots of single guys and comparing them to me. Or even enjoying the experience.
We’re definitely in a very healthy relationship where we won’t get angry at each other and can discuss these things freely, so we wanted to see what others thought about the situation and each of our feelings.
I think you're old enough to know that you didn't have to wait for him to make a move, you could have done so as well and you didn't. And so it was never going to happen.
If you really wanted to be with him at any point in this past story, you would have done something about it. You didn't want him that badly.
