Ummmm it happened before you both met. It’s only as awkward as YOU make it. You broke up with your boyfriend, and ended your friendship over something that happened BEFORE you met him? And he or she didn’t KNOW that was the person you’ve been dating?
This is a YOU issue. It’s also a maturity issue. My ex and my friend ran into each other years after he and I broke up.
