Him talking about how he is openly attracted to another woman is a huge red flag. Guys are attracted to girls, but by openly stating it he shows he doesn't care at all if it hurts your feelings.
If it's really not just him being lazy and kind of a dick, having a lot of difficulty waking up and getting going can be a symptom of ADHD. If he's otherwise a good guy, and maybe shows other symptoms you've noticed, getting him to get checked out might be a good option for you guys.
Or you could just need to let him miss the train a few times in a row to get the point if he is just being lazy.
