Yes. She's gotten a little defensive about it. I've asked her both to clean a bit more as she goes, and to just scale back cooking in general. She will not scale back cooking, as she says she wants the kids to have options. I think that's true, but cooking is also one of her favorite things to do – like on a day off, she'll spend 3-4 hours cooking. She enjoys it (and of course on those days she leaves me 2 sinks full of dishes to do).
I've asked her to consider just cooking less and using left overs. I probably should have pointed that out but – she'll insist on cooking when our fridge is overflowing with left overs. She says she forgets they are there. This is the one that probably frustrates me more, because it feels wasteful not of just my time but also just wasteful in general.
She tries, sometimes at least. Sometimes I'll go in and she's already washed some of the dishes. But usually she just says she was too busy while cooking.
