yahhh i can understand that, i think if its other people specifically (sorta like the friends/family situation) and u are imagining ur partner as them its disrespectful if ur partner isnt aware u are doing it. i would consider it emotional cheating in that instance but if both parties are aware and happy for it (like a roleplay) then each to their own.

I get that it's a better use of your time to have that meeting over lunch, but the optics probably aren't good to your wife.
