Depends on the context of how you ask and frame it. Asking 20 questions vs something more thought out. Maybe preface by saying, “hey I don’t want to put you in an awkward position, so tell me if this is overstepping. I just want to move forward, so would you mind telling me X, and I promise I won’t ask you again.” Or some such thing.
The two things I have questions about are: 1. You were together for ~6 years and only decided she was your person when you got sick and she supported you? 2. You talk a lot about what she needs to do for you and that you’d be willing to continue if she did what you asked but what have you done to not make her feel like you’re roommates? Have you taken her on a date? Do you randomly compliment her? Do you make her feel loved and appreciated? Or is it a matter of what she needs to do for you regardless of how much she’s given you already with being your caretaker?
