I've never invited a friend to visit and then charged them an amount for them visiting.
I get it's expensive but you'd think you'd budget your rent since you're the one that lives there and what would you do if you hadn't invited them to visit?
While I do think it's appropriate for them to buy you dinner at least and bring a host's gift. Asking for rent seems rude. But again, this could be cultural- where I'm from it be rude, you don't charge people for inviting.
Reading that this happened to you made my stomach turn. And I don't even know you. Someone who says they love you will never blame you for what happened to you. Why does a complete stranger on the internet care more about you than your “boyfriend”?
And if he was fine enough with the age gap to embark upon this “relationship” at the start, why does it bother him now? That's very hypocritical of him.
I hope you muster up the courage and strength to cut him out of your life. You don't even owe him an explanation as to why or how you've made the choice to. He already knows that how he treats you is not okay. He keeps doing it to you because he thinks you will keep letting him.
