Snooping is a product of feeling unsafe in your marriage. There was something about his behavior that already set off some red flags and you were confirming the validity of your suspicions. My partner had done the same thing, he’d made a Tinder, Plenty of Fish, and who knows what else. In his case he was looking for a dopamine fix and went down a ton of toxic and addictive rabbit holes. He offered an open phone policy, location tracking, no secrets, and I’m allowed to ask questions whenever I start feeling anxious. I don’t check his phone much at all now but just knowing he’s willing to do all that to make me feel more comfortable and secure shows me he’s genuinely trying. I don’t know if it’s the same with your husband but you’ll never know if you don’t ask. And this is for sure a breach of your trust. He needs to be ready to accommodate your concerns and do his part to earn that trust back.
