So similarly my other half had not seen a dentist since 16 and he was 29 and had the most awful breath so I met him and sent him to a dentist to remove 2 rotten teeth. But then I went regularly so it was something that was normal to me and is normal to many people.
If you have a discussion about it and he refuses to consider that he needs it then you have a bigger issue.
I made it happen because I met another person who didn't do dentists until his teeth started falling out because of gum disease which he never got checked out because who needs dentists. That was an expensive mistake for him.
You can explain that as you get older the chances of having a cavity get higher and if you deal with it early you can reduce the cost of getting a huge filling or losing a tooth from rot. It is preventative like not eating sugar or exercise.
