You don’t state how long you have been together, how long they have been separated or who initiated but honestly you need to let this go. Kids are only little once. They will have fond memories of this situation. You need to grow up. This is not about you. Likely has nothing to do w ex either.
I’ve been out in social circles before and remember a male introducing himself to me as an anesthesiologist… he didn’t know I myself am a physician (surgeon no less, so I’m pretty familiar with anesthesiologists LOL). I asked him where he worked and he was vague, only mentioning the city, so I asked, oh are you at such and such hospital? He was quite dodgy, but stuck to his story – I assumed he just didn’t want to get into work talk or get asked medical questions, so I finally said, I’m a such and such surgeon. Dude ducked out of the convo so fast. Turned out, he was totally lying and worked at a car dealership (I confirmed with a common friend). Like of all medical professions to pretend you are, why that!!? So I’m surprised he would be pretending if OP herself is a nurse. I wonder more if he uses a different name at work (could have two legal names, I know some international grads who use two different names but both are legal because they have passports in each place and their Canadian one has their English name). I would just straight out tell him you can’t verify his name and employment and feel uncomfortable meeting him without knowing any background. If he’s dodgy, you have your answer.

Just because a dude has a low sex drive doesn’t mean something is wrong with him?
