You know, divorce isn't instant. There will be a period of time where your assets are being divided. Your concern for her is kind but don't let it overpower concern for YOURSELF. If you guys are on a lease, consider letting her stay there until the lease is up. IF you can afford it, pay the rent for up to 3 months, after that she's on her own. That is a generous and kind thing to do as she can get a job in that time, and a room mate if needed. Also she'll have financial assets from the marriage too. For example if you have a thousand dollars in the bank she'll get $500. If you have a 401K or other retirement account, she'll get half of that. Stocks, etc. You may not have much but in her situation even a thousand dollars is a big help to get her started on her own.
