The person you responded to mentioned OP knows she is depressed, so I assumed OP had said that somewhere.
He is not wrong for trying to work it out, but he should unicate his actual motivations. He shouldn't say “you have gained weight and should do something for your health, I do this for you!”, he should have said “I think health and the gym are a priority and I have discovered that I would like a partner that thinks the same. Are you up for that?” if he is hiding his motivations, he isn't really working out anything.
I have ASD & ADHD, my oldest has ASD/ADHD and my youngest is an NT. He’s the easiest because he dresses himself. My oldest dresses himself but he needs help with that because he needs reminders putting on deodorant and clean clothes that match. It’s ok though.
I’m a co-parent so the kids are at mine 50% of the time then they go to their dads house the other 50% of the week. So our week is split 3.5 days and I do the childcare and balance work in those 3.5 days.
I’m happy to wake up an hour earlier to get the kids to school. I have timeblindness and rely on alarm clocks and reminders and I don’t like being late.
I do need to do my hair and apply makeup because it helps with my sense of self worth. But if it’s causing the kids to be late I’ll just tie it in a bun and skip the mascara.
She’s probably doing less because she knows you’ll pick up her slack.
If she’s verbally abusive you need to call the DV hotline and get some professional help.
Abuse will hurt not just you but also your two children.
