I’m sorry you’re in this situation. I can’t imagine. Also, asking for anecdotes won’t be helpful because everyone is different. Anyone could easily say they’d choose love or choose family. They’re not you.
In saying that, you need to take a step back and be honest with yourself. Are you willing to give up your family, yes or no? If not, then you need to end your relationship. I realize that’s not “simple,” but which cultural situations like this, it just is what it is no matter how much we can all agree it’s an archaic mindset. Good luck.
A chart is a good idea. Write down the chores, decide who does what and how often. You probably will have to on-line with him doing it like the chart says and not when it is needed, but that should be doable.
