My husband is a sporty guy—he’s super buff and does all the cardio to stay slim. I cook healthy things for us and eat lots of veggies.
I cannot possibly keep up with him physically unless I take up weightlifting as a hobby, which I might still do some day. He’s never said a single negative thing about my weight in 15 years of marriage. I’m 5’7” and a size L, maybe XL after my last baby but back down to L/jeans size 14.
I don’t think this lifestyle difference is hurting our relationship—it’s falling apart for other reasons but it’s totally fine for one person to be really into physical fitness and the other other to “nope” out of it as long as each person is being respected.
