I actually know all the local groups existing here from when I was looking for a care service (I checked with the voluntary groups first, thinking that no “official” care service would be willing to lock the door). There is a group in the next big town over, but they weren't even willing to help with a lot of prior notice before as they only focus on the elderly. It might be a cultural thing (which would be very sad) but at least in my area in Germany here, we don't really have community centres and while we have churches, they don't really offer stuff like that. I do suppose I could have asked a different care service, though, but I doubt that they would have done it on such short notice for someone they never met before when the one I am a customer of couldn't do it.
Yeah, I read that one. Or, one that was similar. People telling her that she should surprise him and do things for him. She has taken him on vacations, cooks special meals that she doesn't like because they are his favorite, but she's the jerk because she wants a sign of return affection and consideration. I really hope she wisens up and leaves him.
