So this isn’t a good sign. Your fiancé isn’t a sane or rational person. I’m remarried and my ex’s girlfriend wanted to take over as only mom and my ex encouraged it. I wasn’t going to pay any attention to them however my kids hated her and they started to alerting me to alarming behavior. So I took them to court and the 50/50 went to 90/10. Now my kids were 10 and 12 at the time so they were very aware of what they were experiencing and what they wanted. My son has my last name as well as a hyphen so when he wants to he can drop either or neither name. My daughter since day one wants my husband’s last name. I told her when she is 18 she can do that and if she really wants to go by my new last name at school all we have to do is ask. And that do call her by her preferred last name. My ex hates it when she’s called up in her competitions but she wants this still 6 years later. She’s a couple years from being old enough to change her name if she wants to. I just don’t think changing their name for them is ok. He’s only got 10% visitation but I’m not going to pull that thread until he can’t fight it legally. This is your girlfriend fighting for this and demanding or manipulating to get her way. I’m convinced that this is not a good relationship.
