Everyone has their own boundaries, but this would be too far for me. If I’m friends with a co worker of any gender then I should be able to text them whenever. The time thing doesn’t really make a difference. Some people text late, it’s not that they expect a reply. Texts are like emails, you just expect the person to get to them whenever they want.

It’s really important to bond with co workers I think, especially in an intense job like care. Also, he is literally asking about another girl and as you say, you are open to share. While he is entitled to his feelings, I think in most peoples books you did nothing wrong.
Totally get that mindset – been in your shoes. In my experience it's best not to fall victim to the “sunk cost fallacy” when it comes to people like this. Acting as childishly as your partner is is not a “relationship low.” It's their nasty personality revealing itself and it's not reparable.

I think this is beyond Reddit's paygrade. I think you need couples counseling. Your decision to have or not have kids can't be postponed much longer simply based on your wife's age. You need to work out which option you're going to go with. If it's no, then you will need to work out your feelings about having no children or see if it's a dealbreaker for you. It sounds like your wife's decision caused a crisis as you realized that you had stronger feelings than expected.
