It’s kind of a family by family thing, where it is normal in some and completely abnormal in others. There are also families where it is normal when the kids are small and get phased out with age. Thanks for your comment, although not very helpful. It’s hypothetical, none of that actually happened. The case is arguing over something small, then one person escalating by “overreacting” and the other person reacting to that more intensively.
